What is THC?
THC, also known as tetrahydrocannabinol or delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, is the main psychoactive substance found in the cannabis plant that is used as medical marijuana. THC has a very low solubility in water, but good solubility in most organic solvents. Thus, THC is a fat-soluble substance that takes time to metabolize.
What does THC Calc do?
If youre a medical marijuana user or are just curious, THC Calc provides an estimation of how long THC is detectable by a urine drug screen if you were to cease using medical marijuana today.
What is a urine drug screen?
A urine drug screen is a test that can detect the amounts of several substances in a urine sample. For the scope of this application, it is the most common and most accurate way to test for THC metabolites. 50 nanograms of THC metabolites per milliliter defines a "presumptive positive" by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) certified labs.
How does THC Calc work?
This calculation is dependent on several factors. Of these factors, five things are assumed (for this version):
1) You consume medical marijuana primarily by smoking (not by ingesting/eating)
2) You are a regular to moderate user of medical marijuana (2-3 or more uses per week)
3) Youre medical marijuana has a medium to high potency
4) Youre drinking the recommended amount of water
5) You are not using or plan to use any product that claims to detoxify your body
Other factors taken into account are:
1) Your age
2) Your percent of body fat
3) The weight of your body fat
4) Your estimated metabolic speed
5) Your weekly cardio activity level
6) Your muscular composition level
7) How many calories you burn per day
Is THC Calc 100% accurate?
There is a very fine line when it comes to a question like this. For the sake of our (IV:XV Innovatus, LLC) protection, then no, THC Calc is not 100% accurate. By using this application, you understand that we (IV:XV Innovatus, LLC) guarantee nothing are not responsible for any actions that you take based on the information that THC Calc provides. Anything you do with information obtained from this application is done so on the behalf of your own, personal risk.
With that being said, we do believe that THC Calc is accurate to within a few days. As an example, if THC Calc is graphing your THC Levels out to four weeks and you are underfat, then we have high confidence that this is an accurate calculation +/- 3 days. Extending this train of thought and applying it to a user with THC Levels graphed out to seven weeks for an overfat or obese user, we can say that this is an accurate calculation +/- 7 days. It is important to understand that the margin of error is proportional the users percent and weight of body fat and proportional to the amount of time it takes to reach a THC Level below 50 ng/ml in a urine sample.
